Donna Rogers Fine Art, based in Houston, Texas, is not your typical gallery. She has sold art in commercial galleries, but over the years she has come to realize that she prefers interacting with her clients on a more informal basis. Since 1993 Donna Rogers Fine Art has been operating out of an elegant 3,400-square-foot townhouse located near the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Contemporary Arts Museum. You view art as a mixed collection along with furniture and even pets. Rather than just the featured artist
of the month, the viewer gets a realistic vision of how we live with art, and hopefully allows a different comfort level
from the usual gallery experience. It illustrates that diversity of style can work as a collection.
Although the gallery has a strong focus on minimal, monochromatic, color field, conceptual and interactive art,
there is a mix of other schools.
Our artists include a broad range of mid-career, international contemporary artists who work in a
variety of mediums, innovative emerging artists, and a few local talents. One of the gallery's commitments
is the long-term promotion and commitment to the careers of our artists. These artists are represented in major private, corporate and museum collections and aside from
one-person gallery and museum shows, our artists have been invited to participate in important group exhibitions
as well as national and international biennials including the Whitney Museum and Venice.
In addition to our gallery
artists, Donna Rogers Fine Art handles the resale of high-quality modern and contemporary international paintings,
sculpture, works on paper, photographs and original prints and multiples. These works include artists such
as John Armleder, Richmond Burton, Kiki Smith, David Simpson, Julia Mangold, James Turrell, Herbert Hamak, Ross Bleckner, Nan
Goldin, Brice Marden, Not Vital, Jesus Bautista Moroles, Sheila Metzner, Robert Rauschenberg, Jeff Koons, William Wegman, Jock Sturges, Joe Andoe, Donald Sultan, Ryan Mcginness, Graciela Sacco, Tracey Snelling, Mark Francis and many more.
Our experience includes help in the development of private and corporate collections in various mediums and
artistic preferences and we frequently act as an agent in the purchase and/or deacquisition of works in all medium. We work with a large network of art resources which include international and national galleries, publishers, and private collections.
Donna Rogers Fine Art keeps her clients up to date on her inventory through a quarterly newsletter and periodic open houses. Clients may also take advantage of an extensive library of art books, exhibition catalogues, and other resources. Rogers takes great pleasure in educating her clients and helping them to acquire works of art that they feel passionate about. “No matter how much I think I know about art, every week I learn something new from my clients,” says Rogers. “They teach me as much as I teach them.”
